201 Objections
Telford & Wrekin Council are planning 250 homes at 'Lawley West'. There's nothing wrong with this in principle, but they are proposing to access the homes along existing roads in Lawley. This would lead to congestion, noise, air quality and road safety issues for existing residents, and flies in the face of what the community has asked for.
We believe there is a better solution: a new access road from Lawley Drive, turning the existing traffic light junction at Birchfield Way into a 4-arm junction, as was always intended.
The Benefits of a New Access Road
Eases congestion by reducing pressure on residential roads - particularly Pepper Mill/Arleston Lane and Glendale
Improves road safety near Lawley Primary School and other key routes
Reduces rat-running along Arleston Lane
Provides access to disused land identified for commercial development, supporting local jobs and economic growth
Delivers smarter, more sustainable infrastructure to prevent unnecessary traffic problems.

The Problem with the Council’s Plan
Traffic Impact – The Council’s proposal funnels traffic through existing residential roads, creating unnecessary congestion and safety hazards
No Long-Term Strategy – There is no plan for sustainable infrastructure to support increased traffic
Ignored Community Concerns – Residents’ worries about congestion and safety have not been properly addressed.
You Can Make a Difference
Telford & Wrekin Council will soon decide on their current plans—this is your chance to tell them we need a better solution.
Send an objection email today – We’ve made it easy for you! Use our simple email template to tell the Council why this plan needs rethinking.

Make your voice heard – Your support will show the Council that Lawley residents demand better infrastructure before any further strain is placed on local roads.
The proposed road and upgraded junction on Lawley Drive will serve as the main access to Lawley West while also creating a new link to land allocated in the Local Plan for commercial development. Additionally, Arleston Lane will be split to discourage rat-running.
